Jewel Joseph is the founder of “Bush Gyal Productions” shares how NEDCO’s program empowered her with practical skills and mentorship, propelling her business towards success. Her journey started in 2014 within agriculture and aquaculture by cultivating short crops, fruit trees, and rearing tilapia fish intensively. However, this endeavor was put on pause in 2017 to engage in voluntary work in Guyana’s Rupununi Interior. A planned visit to Trinidad and Tobago in 2020 resulted in an unexpected lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This period of change provided time for reflection, learning, and creativity, sparing the development of Bush Gyal’s yogurts and probiotic drinks. With a passion for edible items, the outdoors, and a heightened focuses on immunity during the pandemic, Bush Gyal has a renewed purpose, aiming to make a positive social and environmental impact globally.
